Town of Chapel Hill, NC : Obey Creek Development Agreement
Who is going to read 55 pages of contract language?
Why are we doing this anyway? The developer wants to develop and the Town gets to set the rules for anything over and above current zoning. Why doesn't the Town Council simply say - if you want more freedom to develop this parcel, here are the x requirements of what you must do? Period. Give us, the voters, a chance to comment on that document before it is handed to the developer, let the Council take those comments into accounts, make any revisions and then to the developer. The developer can then take it or leave it. Why do we have to negotiate anything with the developer?
